Followers of the team, which is commonly known as the Gators, flocked to the Proud Gator store in Lakeland to purchase branded embroidered clothing. Karen Carper, who owns Proud Gator with her husband, told News Chief that "it has been kind of crazy". Mrs Carper explained that people started waiting in line from 07:30 even though the shop was not scheduled to open until an hour later."It has been a nice calm chaos," Mrs Carper continued. "The people here are just awesome. They are laughing and joking. It is more of a festive, fun atmosphere.
