A new exhibition has opened in Florence, Italy, which demonstrates the effect and influence of workwear on contemporary fashion and society.
Curated by Oliviero Toscani, the Workwear: Lavoro Moda Seduzione exhibition runs at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence until February 8th.
Mr Toscani worked alongside Olivier Saillard, from the Musee des Arts Decoratif in Paris, to put the exhibition together.
They have focused on exploring the history and impact of workwear, including presenting around 2,800 items of technical and practical clothes and accessories.
Mr Saillard told the International Herald Tribune that the exhibition is about "work clothes as a fashion inspiration".
"And it is also about having a uniform," he continued. "For men, a suit is a uniform and maybe we are in need of that to calm down fashion."
The exhibition features a pair of silver lame overalls by Yohji Yamamoto, alongside transparent nurse uniforms designed by Marc Jacobs for the Louis Vuitton label
