Bill Clinton approves organic printed t-shirts

Wed, 13 Aug 2008 10:29

The image of New Zealand organic clothing firm Untouched World has been given a boost having caught the eye of a celebrity or two.

During a trip to New Zealand, former US President Bill Clinton was seen wearing an Untouched World top which generated a publicity buzz about the company, and actress Felicity Huffman is also a fan of the organic apparel.

Using environmentally sustainable raw materials, the company predominantly uses organic cotton to produce its luxury line in ethical clothing such as t-shirts and winter fashion items like Merino sweaters, scarves and accessories.

Untouched World has made its ethical message plain with the launch of two web sites aimed at internet shoppers in Europe and internationally.

Chief executive of Untouched World Peri Drysdale said: "Our organic cotton is grown without the use of toxic and persistent pesticides or fertilisers, sewage sludge, irradiation or genetic engineering, and is certified by Control Union Certification (formerly SKAL International)."

"Organic cotton has equally high, if not higher, quality than conventionally produced cotton," she added.
