Embroidered clothes exhibition honours the Tsars

Logo ID- experts in screen embroidered clothing.An incredible collection of embroidered clothing from the time of the Russian Tsars has gone on display at the Victoria & Albert (V&A) museum in London. The Magnificence of the Tsars, which is open now and runs until March 29th, showcases the clothing and apparel worn by members of the Russian imperial court from 1721 to 1917.Over 40 items of beautiful embroidered clothing have been loaned to the museum from the archives of the Moscow Kremlin Museums.The wide variety of superbly preserved items of embroidered clothing includes dress coats, boots and uniforms.Highlights of the show include coronation uniforms worn by seven successive emperors, most notably the last Russian Tsar, Nicholas II.The exhibition also includes the vast wardrobe, extensively burnished with silver and gold, which was owned by the child emperor Peter II.Reigning for only three years from 1727 to 1730, Peter II died of smallpox at just the tender age of 14.
